Clifford E. Hawkins Ed.M - Principal


Clifford Hawkins is the Principal for Center for Human Services Education (CHSE) located in Grand Rapids, Michigan.  CHSE specializes in designing and implementing  training programs.  Clifford E. Hawkins has trained a multitude of human services professionals over the span of 25 years.  Clifford brings insight, humor, and boundless energy to his workshops and has developed a reputation as a skilled counselor and educator.  His facilitation skills are the catalyst behind most of his workshops.

As Principal, he is skilled at designing and implementing human services programs with an emphasis in group theory and design.  He has extensive experience as a skilled counselor (individual/group/family) as well as clinical director and trainer.  He is also very adept at employing various training techniques and accommodating various learning styles. 

As a government employee, he held clinical as well as supervisory positions as counselor/clinical director and directed the Alcohol and Drug Training Center in Munich, Germany providing training for all substance abuse professionals matriculating in United States Army Europe often totaling 300 professionals a year per year. With a staff of six professionals (PhD/MSW/MA) trained over 600 Alcohol/Drug program professionals.  This included Military and Civilian Employees.  He has trained substance abuse professionals in the US Army Korea and he has provided workshops and established education programs for the U.S. Army in Afghanistan and Uzbekistan.

Over the past 10 years, Clifford has placed a strong emphasis in wellness.  He sees wellness as an integral part of a person's goals to improve their quality of life.  Clifford has designed workshops to solely meet the needs of this population.
